The following are Special Awards only, and winners will be receiving recognition plaques

BEST INTERNATIONAL COSTUME AWARD (mandatory competition)

Awarded for modeling a creative costume of your choice. The costume can be ethnic or Canadian. Top International Costume presenters will be chosen to perform at the Crowning Gala.

PHOTOGENIC AWARD (mandatory competition)

Awarded based on a maximum of 6 high resolution photos (due by March 15, 2014) of you wearing your MWC sash. These should be submitted via email to info@MissWorldCanada.com. It’s a competition, so it’s up to you and the photographer to be creative. We don’t give you any guidelines but make sure you use proper lighting, hair and makeup. Most well-known photographers might do it for you at no charge if you let them put their name on the bottom right corner of each picture.

SOCIAL MEDIA GENIUS AWARD (mandatory competition)

As soon as we receive your early bird payment or deposit and your place in the pageant is secure, you will be given a Facebook Fan Page created by our Social Media Team few months before the Gala Date. The contestant whose Facebook Fan Page has the most likes and the number of people talking about your page, will be the recipient of this award. *Please note that this award is separate from the People’s Choice Award*

MISS CONGENIALITY AWARD

This award is bestowed upon a contestant who displayed the overall best participation and spirit in pageant and pageant-related activities, positively interacted with the other contestants and the MWC team, and continues to be a role model for other young women.

FAST-TRACK AWARDS

The following are Fast Track Awards. Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 of each competition, and the one girl that WINS 1st place in each competition will also be Fast-Tracked into one of the semi-finalist positions for the final show. There will be six (6) fast-tracks, and the ten (10) remaining semifinalist positions will be based on scores for all other areas of competition as described in the scoring breakdown.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD

The world is going to be given the opportunity to vote for the Miss World® Canada 2014 contestants via our website at www.missworldcanada.com and our official Facebook page. The votes will be tallied and the winner announced at the Crowning Gala. Participating in the People’s Choice Award is an excellent opportunity to for you to be recognized and will give you an edge to market yourself.

In order to launch you as a feature of the People’s Choice Award, we require a high resolution head shot, a biography of no more than 200 words, and an introductory video of up to 2 minutes. Please email all three of the aforementioned items to info@missworldcanada.com. We reiterate that your contestant biography will be used on the roster and in our publications and press releases, so again, ensure that it is well-written. Note that after you submit the aforementioned items, there will be no changes permitted. Be reminded that the competition for the People’s Choice Award is independent from the competition for the Miss World Canada 2014 title – that is, the winner of the award will not have a corresponding score counted toward her overall pageant tally. Also note that the introductory video required as part of the People’s Choice Award submission is separate from the “Beauty with a Purpose” video required as a primary component of the pageant. The People’s Choice video will require that you give your name, city, pertinent details about yourself, why you chose to enter Miss World® Canada and your plans for the future

The winner of this award is the contestant with the highest votes on www.missworldcanada.com & Miss World Canada’s Facebook page combined. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will also receive:

BEST TALENT AWARD (optional competition)

A two minute (maximum) presentation at the preliminary competition. Top talent presenters will be chosen to perform at the Gala. Please note that if you are playing piano, you are responsible for obtaining and transporting a keyboard/piano (similarly, with any other instrument). You may share the cost with another contestant with similar needs.**This competition is a solo competition or duo with another person with you.

BEST POSITIVE BODY IMAGE AWARD (mandatory competition)

Modeling in a two piece swimsuit of your choice (which may be creatively accessorized) at the preliminary competitions. Your presentation will be judged on healthy body tone, presentation, and class – not how “sexy” you look in a bikini.

BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE VIDEO AWARD (mandatory competition)

Awarded based on no more than a three minute video submission, due at registration of the first day of pageant week, i.e. the day you arrive in Vancouver. The video must portray your volunteering and Variety – the Children’s Charity fundraising efforts. Any voluntary work has to be charitable, humanitarian or philanthropic in nature. Video to be submitted as a YouTube link only. Other mediums will not be accepted. If the video is longer than 3 minutes, it will automatically be disqualified.

MISS SPORTS AWARD (mandatory competition)

Awarded based on a fitness or sports competition that will be awarded to delegate with most strength, agility, endurance, and flexibility. The activity is to be announced. Please bring fitness wear for this competition.

TOP MODEL AWARD (mandatory competition)

Awarded based on confidence and catwalk during preliminary and final show.
